Agent for Chargers RB Melvin Gordon Requests His Client be Traded

First he wanted to be paid more than $10 million a year, and now it sounds like Melvin Gordon wants out of the Chargers all together.

The Bolts star running back has requested a trade, this coming from Agent Damarius Bilbo, who reportedly told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that he requested last week that the Los Angeles Chargers trade the running back.

The request came after the team remained at its initial offer of approximately $10 million per season.

Bilbo told Anderson that Chargers general manager Tom Telesco told him the Pro Bowl running back is still viewed as family and that Bilbo was not given permission to seek trade partners.

It seems insane that the Chargers would deal Gordon, who at 26 years old is entering the prime of his career, but they also have to figure out a way to get their star back into camp, as right now he’s holding out.

Gordon is scheduled to be in the final year of his contract, a fifth-year option worth $5.6 million.
