Chargers TE Hunter Henry ‘Ready to Step Up’ in 2018

Chargers tight end Hunter Henry says he is “ready to step up” with perennial Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates not returning in 2018 according to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.

On Friday the Chargers announced they would move on from Gates, who had been with the organization since 2003. While Henry talked about how “incredible” it was to play with a future Hall of Famer, he said he is ready to take over. Fantasy owners who saw him post a 45/579/4 line on just 62 targets last year are also ready to see Henry get a full workload. And, given how much quaterback Philip Rivers loves throwing to his tight end, Henry will likely be a top-5 TE next season on what should be a prolific offense.
