Whisenhunt To Come To The Chargers As OC For McCoy

Former Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt will become the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers, a league source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Chargers hired former Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy as their new coach this week.

Whisenhunt was dismissed by Arizona on Dec. 31 after six seasons. He led the Cardinals to their only Super Bowl appearance in his second season and Arizona won its second straight NFC West title the following year. But after a 4-0 start this season, the Cardinals lost 11 of their last 12 to finish 5-11 for the second time in three years.

I am surprised and pleased with all the hirings of the San Diego Chargers. As bad as things were this past season I believe that the Chargers have completely turned it around with the hirings of Telesco, McCoy and Whisenhurt.
The offensive line and the defensive secondary are the Chargers greatest needs and have been the most frustrating positions to watch perform on the field these past 3 seasons. With this group leading the Chargers on draft day I believe the team will see much improvement at those positions this coming season.
Needless to say I am very excited about this coming year
