
Former Chargers general manager A.J. Smith was with the club for the past 10 years. For the first half the team was successful but struggles over the past several years but understands why he was fired by the team.
Smith, along with coach Norv Turner were both let go Monday in a wave of moves around the league.
“It’s tough. I’ve seen a lot of people go through this over my many years in the league,” Smith said. “Now it’s my turn. This is the life I’ve chosen, and there is a price to pay when you don’t win.
