Chargers Ink WR Michael Spurlock to a One-Year Deal

The Chargers have signed free agent wide receiver Michael Spurlock to a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Originally signed by the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi in 2006, Spurlock has 23 receptions for 294 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-game career with the Cardinals (2006), San Francisco 49ers (2008), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played in 2007 and from 2009 through 2011.

Spurlock has averaged 25.1 yards on 73 kick returns in his career and was the first player to return a kickoff for a touchdown in Buccaneers’ history. Spurlock has two kick returns for a touchdown in his career and has returned one punt for a touchdown, all with the Buccaneers.

Spurlock is the third receiver/return specialist the Chargers have signed this off-season, adding Eddie Royal last month and Roscoe Parrish on Tuesday.
