LB Stephen Cooper To Try And Play With Torn Biceps

A day after head coach Norv Turner said linebacker Stephen Cooper would require surgery and be sidelined for two to three months and, it appears Cooper will try to keep playing despite a torn biceps according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune. “I told them, ‘Let me go out there and do it,’ ” Cooper said Tuesday.

“I said, ‘If you don’t feel like I’m doing my job or playing up to expectations, then you make the judgment.’ ” Cooper suffered the injury attempting to make a tackle Sunday at Dallas and played another dozen plays or so. An MRI revealed a complete tear, and the team advised him to get surgery and was preparing to put him on injured reserve. Cooper did not practice Tuesday but could play Saturday in Arizona.
