Charges Dismissed Against Ex-Chargers, LB Steve Foley In Dog Attack

Former Chargers and Houston Texans linebacker Steve Foley has been absolved of blame in a dog attack case, according to the Houston Chronicle. Texas prosecutors dismissed their case against Foley after he was indicted three years ago on third-degree felony charges. His pair of pit bull dogs attacked a female neighbor and the woman’s puppy. The dogs bit Twana Schulz on the face and arms, and a puppy named Schnickers was killed, per the report.

The pit bulls were seized by animal control officers and put down. Foley wasn’t home at the time of the attack. “(Foley) paid compensation to the victim to satisfy the out-of-pocket expenses for her injuries, and it was her desire to move on from the situation,” Fort Bend County assistant district attorney Mark LaForge said. Added Paul Nugent, Foley’s lawyer: “He feels badly that it happened. The dogs had never shown aggression before. This was a tragic accident, but (Schulz) is OK and they remain neighbors and friends.”
