A Few Weekend Charger Roster Moves

The Chargers’ front office made a few roster moves today in preparation for tomorrow’s game against the 5-2 Tennessee Titans.

Wide receiver Gary Banks has been promoted to the active roster from the practice squad and offensive tackle Nic Richmond has been signed to the practice squad.

Offensive tackles Adam Terry and Ryan Otterson have been released to make room for Banks and Richmond.

The Chargers have been in dire need of wide receivers with Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee having been out with injuries recently and Vincent Jackson, who signed his restricted free agent tender yesterday, on the roster exempt list for three games. Banks should provide some special teams help and more depth behind Buster Davis, Patrick Crayton, Richard Goodman, and Seyi Ajirotutu. Naanee is expected to play tomorrow, but it is uncertain how effective he will be.

Richmond should provide some help on the offensive line. He was invited to training camp after going undrafted in the 2010 NFL Draft and has been on and off the Chargers’ squad since.
