Chargers expected to ink fomer Texans kicker Kris Brown

The Chargers need a kicker on Sunday when they take on the Patriots, and from all accounts the team is looking at veteran Kris Brown. Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reported earlier today that the deal with Brown will be done later today.

Brown beat out Shayne Graham and Shaun Suisham as the Chargers worked out three kickers looking to find someone to replace Keading. Brown is the Texans all-time leading scorer with 767 points, and has connected on 252-of-326 field goal attempts (77.3%) during his 11-year career.

Brown spent three seasons with the Steelers before joining the Texans in their inaugural season. Brown had a tryout with the Saints last month, but the team signed 46-year old John Carney instead.
