WR Floyd Has Big Game Despite Loss to Raiders

Charger wide receiver Malcom Floyd came away from today’s loss to the Oakland Raiders with something to be proud of, which can’t be said for too many of the other Chargers on the roster.

Floyd produced eight receptions for a career-high 231 yards, including a touchdown. His longest reception went for 55 yards.

This was the best game turned in by a Chargers’ wide receiver in 25 years. The last time was in 1985 by Wes Chandler, who had a 243-yard game.

As of Sunday night, Floyd is in third-place in the NFL in receiving yards on the season with 498 total yards. Floyd and tight end Antonio Gates are the reasons that quarterback Phillip Rivers is currently the leader in passing yards in 2010.
