Chargers Keep Jackson in Their Grasp, Turn Down Vikings

Well the 1PM PST/4PM EST deadline has officially passed, and Vincent Jackson is still a Charger.

According to multiple sources, the Vikings were willing to offer a second round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and a conditional pick in 2011 depending on the length of the contract they signed him to for Jackson’s services. However, Charger GM A.J. Smith was looking for a second and third round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, which the Vikings appeared unwilling to give up.

Jackson’s suspension would have been dropped from six games to four games if he would have been traded by the deadline, but now that that hasn’t happened, little hope remains for the Chargers either with trading him or making any sort of use of him for themselves.

So thank you A.J. Smith for again taking full advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you. Now we have a Pro-Bowl caliber wide receiver who most likely won’t see the field for the next two years.

Jackson’s agent, Jonathan Feinsod, had this to say: “They call [Smith] the Lord of No Rings for a reason.”

AJ doesnt have to explain anything Jackson started this mess instead of making 3.5 mil for one year he sure is proud isnt he its amazing that this is turned to look like AJs fault he just wanted a reciver he would have undoubtedly got his big money next year or been able to get it anywhere else but no he would rather play little games with his agents the only one with any leverage is AJ so time to play nice besides he will probably get another dui and mandatory jail time before he gets traded then we wont have to listen to the nonsense
