Chargers Sign UDFA Guard Lee Grimes

Today the Chargers have signed undrafted free agent Lee Grimes out of Texas A&M.

Just days after the lose of Tra Thomas to retirement, the Chargers have brought in another offensive lineman in hopes of ailing their o-line woes. The Chargers placed Thomas on the reserve/retired list, and took in Grimes to take his place on the roster.

Grimes was a second-team All Big-12 last season as a right tackle for the Aggies. He was brought in at the beginning of this 0ff-season by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but was cut during training camp. Now he will have his shot to make the roster with the Chargers who have been having problems all off-season on the offensive line.

The Chargers sure did find the right guy with all the injuries they’ve been having. Grimes apparently doesn’t let pain get in the way of him playing football, and is as tough as they come (Look how Grimes, 74, doesn’t even back down from the menacing Sergio Kindle, above). Check out this story on Grimes  for a little insight on the newest Bolt.
