Chargers and Turner Come to Terms on an Extension Though 2013

Despite losing to the Jets on Sunday at home to put an end to their season, the Chargers today announced that head coach Norv Turner isn’t going anywhere. The coach Monday night inked an extension that will keep him in San Diego as coach through 2013.

Norv Turner has gotten his contract extension. The team will announce Monday night that Turner has agreed to terms on a deal through 2013. “I’m extremely proud of the job Norv has done with this team,” team president Dean Spanos said. “In three seasons he’s led the team to three division titles. I’m confident that if we strengthen our roster and continue to provide Norv the assets he needs, this team will have continued success.” Turner, whose team lost in the Divisional round of the AFC playoffs on Sunday, has guided the Chargers to three AFC West titles in his three seasons.

Great move, Norv Turner and Phillip Rivers will insure that the Chargers will remain “Paper Champions” for years to come. Bet you guys are dreading the move to let Drew Brees go to New Orleans. LOL

Unreal! The height of arrogance (some say stupidity) is repeating the same activity and expecting a different result. You could’ve gone after Shanahan (you’dve gottten Bryan with him!) or Cowher and FINALLY done something about the lack of discipline that is at the heart of yet another devastating playoff loss.
I want to give Norv his props here, he is a Great Off Çoordinator but he is not tough enough to be head coach, you can see it in the way he gets all flustered after a loss. Do you think Ryan might’ve gotten in Edwards face after the stupid head butt, huh? do ya? Doesnt matter how ticky tacky the call was
These faux pas are the result of egos and putting personal emotion ahead of team goals.. and all Norv wants is for them to like him. That makes for a swell Uncle but NOT a head coach. Sad. I will retire my Chargers Jersey until we get some discipline around here. I mean the Niners pretty much suck talent-wise but at least they are demanded to play up to their potential. You KNOW it’s true.

I’m sorry, I meant Phillips’ head butt and add the Jackson ‘Flag Kick”.

I’ll bet you guys are really dreading the move to go with that no-talent douche bag Phillip Rivers to let Drew Brees go to New Orleans. LOL
That is the height of ineptitude. It has to suck to be a fan of a team who can’t win the “Big One.”
I’ll give you the 1994 AFC Championship Game over my beloved Steelers, everyone gets lucky. But to falter five of the last six years in the playoffs, that has to be maddening.
