L.T. Steps Off the Field and Into the Spotlight for VIZIO’s FOOTBALL PROFILES

This week’s VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES, airing multiple times weekly on Fox Sports Net (FSN) affiliates nationwide; turns its attention to San Diego running back and former Most Valuable Player LaDainian Tomlinson.

Veteran FOX journalist Laura Okmin talks to Tomlinson about turning thirty this past offseason, the stigma that comes with that for professional running backs, and how it will impact the rest of his career. Meanwhile, “LT” and his usually media-shy wife Torsha open up to Okmin and fans everywhere.

“Isn’t that funny … you turn thirty and all of the sudden, you become an old man, a grandpa in the NFL,” says Tomlinson during the episode. “… I believe that you are strongest in your late twenties and early thirties.”

VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES dedicates each 30-minute episode to getting to know the real people that we only know as our favorite football stars. VIZIO, America’s #1 LCD HDTV company serves as title sponsor and co-executive producer for the show, along with Laura Okmin and her production company, LO Productions. While the show is re-aired several times on FSN affiliates, it can also be seen any time at

For the better part of eight seasons, Tomlinson was the leader that kept his franchise together and one of the league’s most prolific runners. Then, an ankle injury that kept him off the field during a playoff game last season seemingly cast a doubt on his ability to play at the highest level.

Now, thanks to this groundbreaking new show, viewers will get a first-hand look at his struggles with not being able to contribute that afternoon.

“Football fans already know that LaDainian is a truly special athlete with an ability that few people in this world possess,” said Okmin. “After watching this episode, they will realize that his desire to overcome all obstacles and be a champion may be his greatest attribute.”

Tomlinson also introduces viewers to Torsha, whom he met while they were both students at Texas Christian University. The couple lets fans inside their off the field life, including a look inside the doors of their joint business venture, Snug, a luxurious pet resort in the mountains near San Diego.

The goal of VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES is to create a comfortable atmosphere where normally guarded athletes can open up and reveal a side of them the public rarely gets a chance to experience. Okmin puts the viewer in the seat right next to the athlete, providing access to a conversation that is open, honest and unguarded.

The Tomlinson episode debuts nationally on Friday, October 16 across all Fox Sports Net (FSN) regional networks and will re-air across FSN affiliates several times. For airtimes in your area, please consult your local listings.

“The LT episode is a very special one for us,” said Jason Maciel, director of marketing at VIZIO. “He has been a member of the VIZIO family for a long time and it is great to be able to let fans see the private side of him that we have been lucky enough to enjoy.”

A new episode of VIZIO’S PRO FOOTBALL PROFILES will debut each week on FSN. FSN reaches over 85 million homes nationally. Featured athletes, in addition to Tomlinson, will include Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald and more.
