John Clayton of ESPN.com reports that Chargers RB Darren Sproles has signed his franchise tender placed on him before the start of free agency. The all-purpose back and kick returner inked his $6.621 million franchise tender. That base salary figure is now guaranteed for next season. Last season in 16 games Sproles ran 61 times for 330 yards, caught 29 passes for 342 yards, and finished with six touchdowns. He was a 4th round pick of the Chargers back in 2005, and has 544 yards rushing in 3 seasons, 383 yards receiving, and 8 touchdowns.
