Three Key Moments of the Chargers 09 Schedule from NFL.com

The Chargers set the tone for the Art Shell Era 2.0 with a 27-0 win at Oakland on Monday Night Football in Week 1 of the 2006 season. The Chargers have a chance to do it again — this time with Tom Cable — when they open the season, again on Monday night in Week 1 at Oakland. The Chargers have won 11 consecutive games against the Raiders.

The Chargers-Broncos Monday night game in Week 6 would be a highly anticipated game — if Jay Cutler was still playing in Denver. The budding rivalry between Cutler and Chargers QB Philip Rivers is no more after Cutler’s trade to Chicago. Rivers vs. Kyle Orton just doesn’t seem to have the same luster, does it?

The Chargers and Titans were two of the top AFC teams in 2008, and will play a primetime tilt on Christmas in Week 16. The Chargers knocked the Titans out of the playoffs in 2007. This will be the Chargers’ first Christmas game.

That Philly game is dangerous. Especially if we travel to New York the week before and win an emotional game against the Giants.
