Chargers Hoping to Get QB Rivers Extended Soon

The word out of San Diego is that the Chargers are still hopeful to get a long-term contract extension finalized with quarterback Philip Rivers before the start of the 2009 season. It’s possible he could receive a contract worth at least $100 million which would be similar to deals Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning recently signed.
