Saying he had to “look at opportunities,” Ron Rivera nonetheless is pleased to remain the Chargers’ defensive coordinator. “I’m excited to be coming back,” said Rivera, who interviewed Wednesday for the Lions’ head coaching job that went to Tennessee defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz the next day. “It’s a good situation. I like what we have in terms of players, and I like the situation with Norv.” Rivera, under contract for two more years, is not talking with any other teams with head coaching vacancies.
