Chargers big play TE Antonio Gates, who is nursing a high ankle sprain, is iffy for Saturday’s playoff opener against the Colts, the San Diego Union Tribune reports. “If we were playing today, (Gates) probably wouldn’t play,” coach Norv Turner said Thursday. It seems like Gates’ status will be a game-time decision Saturday, but given the magnitude of the contest, he’ll be out there if at all possible, even if he is somewhat limited.
