Castillo Cashes in on Five-Year Deal Worth Reported $43 Million

The Chargers have made DE Luis Castillo a very rich man, signing him Tuesday to a deal that will pay him about $43 million with a five-year extension. Castillo will get a guaranteed $17.5 mil in signing and roster bonuses. The deal that he signed with the team as a rookie in 2005 was set to expire after the 09 season. He was approached by the team a few months ago about a new deal. Castillo is a big part of the success on the Chargers D-line, with 13 sacks in 36 career games. Last season he had just 2.5 sacks, but missed six games with an ankle injury.
