Chargers Ink Former Pro Bowl Center Newberry

The Chargers are looking to add depth to the O-line, as they inked center Jeremy Newberry to a deal on Monday that may be insurance in case Nick Hardwick is not ready to go at the start of the season. The former Pro Bowler started in 14 games last season for the Raiders. He was a second-round pick of the Niners back in 1998, and played in the Pro Bowl back in 2001 and 2002. Hardwick had surgery back in March on his sprained foot, and it was said he’d need 4 to 6 months to recover fully. He missed four games last season, but did recover to play in the last six and the three playoff games.
