Florence Not Coming Back to the Chargers in 08

Florence

The tenure of corner Drayton Florence with the Chargers appears to be coming to an end. The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Florence, who was pretty bad at points in 2007, will not be resigned for the 08 season. The team has little interest in Florence, and it is said that he’ll be allowed to sign elsewhere. He has been with the Chargers for the past five seasons. The Chargers wills take a long look at corners with their first round pick in April’s NFL Draft according to the paper.

Makes sense, with Cromartie, interception god, and Jammer, the guy no quaterback will throw to, Drayton Florence is tabbed as a second string, nickel and dime, corner.

  2. Bob's ex-lover says:

Florence did indeed hurt us way more than he helped us.

i think its good he not sighning because we have gates cromarte and jammer all three great recevers he will probably do better with a team that doesent have as many great reevers

  4. SDCLTTD says:

IF you recall Florence was the player who cost us a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against the Pats in the 2007 playoffs when we should have won. I think that with the pick up of Paul Oliver in last year’s compensation draft we covered and probably improved from Florence leaving.
