Chargers Enter Bye Week

The San Diego Chargers have the weekend off as they enter a bye week.  San Diego is 3-and-3 midway through the season, with a 2-and-2 record in the AFC West.  The Chargers will host Houston as they resume action against the Texans next week.

Rivers Named Offensive Player of Week

Quarterback Philip Rivers, who led the team to a 41-3 win over the Broncos in Denver last week, has been recognized as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.  Rivers completed 13-of-18 passes for 270 yards, including two touchdowns.  Rivers also ran for the first rushing touchdown of his career.

Prep Begins Today for Raiders Showdown Sunday

The Chargers are using Sunday’s 41-3 win over the Broncos as motivation going into this weekend’s game against the Oakland Raiders.  The bolts tallied 484 yards of total offense against Denver.  The Chargers improved to 2-3 on the season as they face the 2-2 Raiders who are in first place in the division standings.
