Chargers Cut 10 Players

The San Diego Chargers have reduced their roster size to 54 players after releasing 10 and placing one on injured reserve. The bolts only need to release one more player before Tuesday to reduce their roster size to the maximum 53 players.

The Chargers showed no nepotism in their cuts; releasing TE T.J. Cottrell the son of defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell. They also cut S Miguel Merrick, LB Zach Latimer, OT Mike Jones, CB Quinton Jones, G Jeremy Sheffey, QB Brett Elliott, WR Rhema McKnight, WR Rich Musinski, and WR Sonny Shackelford.

RB Tyronne Gross was placed on injured reserve because of a knee injury he suffered against St. Louis.
