Darren Sproles Looking Good in First Two Pre-Season Games

Darren Sproles
Darren Sproles has been very impressive in the first two pre-season games. He will most likely be the third running back on the depth chart this season but that’s not bad when you consider the fact that he plays behind LaDainian Tomlinson, the best RB in the NFL and Michael Turner, the best back-up RB in the NFL. Even though Sproles won’t get that many carries this year he will be a valuable weapon as a punt returner, especially with the injury to WR Eric Parker.

Darren Sproles missed last season after breaking his ankle in the first game of the season. He played great in his first game against since being injured; totaling 134 all-purpose yards, 63 yards came on the ground, 36 yards receiving, 13 punt return yards, 22 kickoff return yards. Sproles also converted a 3rd and 21 with a 23-yard carry. Sproles was almost equally as impressive in the second pre-season game against the Rams. He returned a punt 81 yards for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter. Sproles returned 2 punts fro 88 yards and 1 TD along with 2 receptions for 8 yards in the Chargers’ victory over the Rams.
