Starters to Play Entire First-Half Against Rams

The Chargers will travel to St. Louis to play the Rams on Saturday night and this game will be different than last week’s loss to Seattle. Norv Turner says he plans on playing the starters for an entire half. LaDainian Tomlinson however, will not play because he doesn’t play in the pre-season. The offensive line has something to prove after allowing 5 sacks last week, a repeat performance might not be good for QB Philip Rivers’ health. Playing the entire first half will give Rivers the chance to get into a rhythm with the WR’s. Michael Turner and Darren Sproles will again get a majority of the carries.

The defense didn’t pressure the QB last week but that can be attributed to a smaller playbook and less blitz calls. That made things a little tougher on the DB’s who looked lost at times. Physically the secondary looked good but they made a few mental mistakes that cost them points. The coaches will open up the playbook a little more this weekend so expect a better performance overall.
