Chargers rookie linebacker Anthony Waters was in court Friday in Horry County on an assault charge. He is charged with hitting a man during a confrontation along a Horry County road. The arrest warrant states that Waters was driving down Nichols Highway Tuesday afternoon when someone in a vehicle in front of him threw a rock at Waters’ car, breaking a windshield causing $350 in damage.
The court papers also state that the rock-throwing incident led to a confrontation where Waters and a friend, Brian Rogers, allegedly hit Cory Sarvis, 18, of Nichols, on his head and body. Both Waters and Rogers are charged with simple assault and battery. Sarvis is charged with malicious damage to personal property (in this case, Waters’ vehicle). All three men were released on $1,000 bail each. No trial date has been set for any of the defendants.
